Planned expulsion of the Greens: Now Boris Palmer’s lawyer Rezzo hose is speaking – domestic politics

by time news

He is himself an original Green and a political legend: Rezzo Schlauch (74), once parliamentary group leader in the Bundestag (1998-2002), then State Secretary for Economic Affairs in the Bund – and a lawyer.

Hose was like Palmer: always belligerent, rarely quiet. Now he represents his party friend and Mayor of Tübingen Boris Palmer (49) against their own Greens!

Hose wants to keep the belligerent Palmer in his party! Hose to PICTURE. “We will defend ourselves with all means!” And further: “We are very optimistic that we will prevail.”

The party wants to expel Palmer for good.

▶ ︎ The state party of Baden-Württemberg sent a 34-page attorney’s letter to the party’s Tübingen district office on Monday, in which Palmer’s serious damage to the party is to be proven.

▶ ︎ At its core, it is about a racism allegation after a highly controversial posting by Palmer on social media about the racism scandal involving ex-national soccer players Jens Lehmann and Dennis Aogo in the spring of this year.

In his own words, Palmer meant this as a sarcastic provocation – the ambiguous brute humor did not arrive. Immediately afterwards in May he regretted his choice of words at BILD: “It would have been wiser not to post it at all.”

Party leader Annalena Baerbock (40) had previously certified that she no longer enjoyed the trust of the party leadership. She accused him of racism and demanded that he be expelled.

The BaWü Greens followed suit and started the process that took them six months.

Palmer has been represented by hose in the dispute for six months and this Monday referred to BILD on the lawyer – and he led off to BILD:

► “The allegations that Boris Palmer are made are for the most part massively pulled by the hair.”

► “Boris Palmer is seriously accused of having harmed the party because he found Sahra Wagenknecht’s book to be good. That shows that the Greens are not too good for anything here, ”said hose to BILD.

► “The party does not seem to be sure of its cause when it applies, on the one hand, to expel Boris Palmer from the party, but then, in the alternative, requests that his party membership be suspended for two years. Those who are 100 percent sure of their arguments do not have to submit an auxiliary request. “

The top Greens had already called for Palmer’s expulsion several times.

Palmer had repeatedly – for the Greens – made provocative statements, reported on his experiences as a local politician with male migrants and called for a tougher course against certain groups. BaWü country father Winfried Kretschmann (73, Greens) had also defended Palmer – despite all the criticism. The party has to endure that.

But now it turns out differently – and that outrags the Palmer lawyer. The party legend settles accounts with his party as a member of the Greens. Hose to PICTURE:

► “The Political Parties Act presupposes that the party has been inflicted serious damage in order to be excluded. The damage caused by this process is many times greater than that caused by Palmer. I don’t think Palmer actually harmed the party. “

► “If a party that likes to adorn itself with the profile of diversity of opinion, enthusiasm for opinion and strength of opinion, is not able to withstand a few cross-shots or to discuss, then it is not far from internal party democracy.”

Palmer himself had accused his party of BILD in May that it was “no longer about what would have been wiser or whether I could have phrased something differently”.

Palmer: “I defend myself against exclusion and denunciation.” He is concerned with the political culture of the country and with the Greens: “Sections of the party’s political leadership have committed themselves to left-wing identity politics.”
