Export expected this year 9.6 billion cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan to Italy, Day.Az reports with reference to a message from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy following a meeting in Brazil of the Minister of Energy Parviza Shahbazova with the Minister of Environment and Energy Security of Italy Gilberto Picetto-Fratin.
It should be noted that in 2023, Italy bought 9.988 billion cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan, which was delivered to it via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).
Italy is the largest buyer of Azerbaijani gas, receiving it through TAP since December 2020.
Shahbazov pointed to the expansion of energy ties with Italy, in particular through the cooperation of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) with Eni SPA
The parties also discussed increasing the capacity of TAP and the participation of Italian companies in green projects in Azerbaijan.
Shahbazov invited his Italian colleague to take part in the Energy Day, which will take place as part of COP29 in November in Baku.
