As part of the 10th meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Hungary, an Azerbaijani-Hungarian business forum was held in Baku, organized by the Export and Investment Promotion Agency – AZPROMO and the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA).

As Trend reports from the event, 55 companies from both countries took part in it, specializing in water management, agriculture, ICT, healthcare, the automotive industry, pharmaceuticals, construction, financial and other sectors, Day.Az reports.

Speaking at the business forum, the co-chairman of the intergovernmental commission from Azerbaijan, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Sahil Babayev, emphasized that relations between the two countries are at the highest level, in particular thanks to the signing of the Joint Declaration on an Enhanced Strategic Partnership a year ago.

According to Babayev, over the past period, about 20 business forums, business meetings and other events were held in Baku and Budapest.

“As for strategic gas cooperation, in 2023 Azerbaijan (represented by SOCAR Trading) supplied 50 million cubic meters of gas to Hungary,” Babayev added.

AZPROMO Executive Director Yusif Abdullayev presented information at the forum about the investment potential of Azerbaijan and the benefits created for investors.

HEPA Director General Gabor Jeney, in turn, emphasized the importance of organizing such events and the positive results achieved.

Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Small and Medium Business Development Agency Orkhan Mammadov spoke about the activities of the agency, support measures that serve to establish connections between businessmen.
