Starting the Special Edition Program

Between December 1st and January 31st, you can take part in PlayStation: Win-A-Thon tournaments on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles. There are plenty of great prizes on offer including cash, PlayStation 5 controllers and new DualSense Edge wireless controllers.

Win-A-Thon is a leaderboard competition where you can earn victories while participating in PlayStation tournaments and improve your overall ranking.

Win any eligible Win-A-Thon competition to count towards winning your overall ranking on the regional leaderboard. When the results are tallied at the end of January, all players with the highest points will win amazing prizes.

The best PlayStation 5 gamers will take home accessories like the new DualSense Edge wireless controller or Pulse 3D wireless headset, while PlayStation 4 owners can win PlayStation 5 controllers.

Look for the Win-A-Thon badge on your contest ticket, register, and start climbing the leaderboard to claim a prize. Click here for award and eligibility details. For more information, see the full PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 rules.

New features for PlayStation Tournaments for PlayStation 5

Thanks to community feedback, we’ve introduced some new features to make participating in tournaments on PlayStation 5 faster and easier.

  • Easy discovery process Finding matches is easy. Scroll to the relevant game on the PS5 home screen and press the down arrow button to display a list of upcoming matches. Alternatively, check available matches by launching Control Center by clicking the PS button while playing a supported game.
  • Log in to the console Registration is faster than ever. From the Control Center or Game Hub, select an available tournament and press the “Register” button to enter the tournament.
  • closing bracket – The tournament length traditionally increases as more players compete. However, we have introduced a new bracketing feature to ensure a consistent duration for each match. If the cap is exceeded, multiple brackets will be created for the same tournament – but the prizes will be the same for each.
  • More contests Everyone has different schedules. Tournaments are held frequently and at regular intervals, so that more players can find time to compete.
  • Completely new user interface – The all-new contest user interface uses a functional card structure to allow you to easily view contest information. Notifications automatically feed your experience and alert you when the next match starts. The match can be started from the ad, giving you time to practice the game or play other titles between matches.
  • View results automatically and in real time – After registering for a tournament, all relevant details can be accessed via the relevant activity card in the Control Centre. Scores are automatically displayed and reported as matches progress. The status of the entire tournament class can be viewed at any time on the tournament card.
