The inauguration event was attended by figures such as the mayor of Santo Domingo, Carolina Mejía, and the Guatemalan ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Javier Zepeda, who were accompanied by various authorities and members of the Guatemalan community residing in the country. The inauguration of Plaza Guatemala has a special meaning as it coincides with the first anniversary of the brotherhood agreement signed between the cities of Saint Dominic y Antigua Guatemala.

The Republic Square Guatemala is located in the Malecon Promenade of Santo Domingoan emblematic place in the Dominican capital, which combines the natural beauty of the Caribbean coast with recreational and leisure areas for the public.
