Plaza Shopping inaugurated a fixed location facing dogs and their guardians, the garden pet plaza. The area, which has park furniture, toys and circuits for dogs to play and run around at will, is enough to meet the demand of consumers in the North Zone of Recife who love to walk their dogs. Access is free, but it has some race restrictions.

Dogs of any size, except those considered on guard, can access the space, provided they are on a leash or harness with proper identification. However, some breeds are not allowed such as Akita, American Pitbull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Doberman, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro, German Shepherd, Belgian Shepherd-Malinois and Rottweiler. Female dogs in heat and wild dogs are also not allowed. Only guide dogs can circulate in all areas.
Jardim Pet Plaza occupies a wooded area of 443.60 m² and operates during the same hours as the mall: Monday to Saturday from 9am to 10pm, and on Sundays from 12pm to 9pm. Among the equipment available are a catwalk, seesaw, obstacle courses, tables and chairs for tutors to rest and follow their pets closely.
The space is on the corner of Rua Dr. João Santos Filho and Praça Jornalista F. Pessoa de Queiroz.
The novelty is part of the actions in celebration of Plaza Shopping’s anniversary, which completes 25 years in September. This year, the mall also expanded the spaces where dogs can stay with their tutors while they have a meal. Currently, Praça do Piano (L3) and the lounges of The Coffee (L2), The Brownie Bakery (L3), Deltaexpresso (L4) and Cacau Show (L2) are pet friendly.
