jpnn.comJAKARTA – The General Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), revealed the reason why he has not yet officially nominated President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) son-in-law, Bobby Nasution, in the North Sumatra (Sumut) gubernatorial election.

This was conveyed by AHY after submitting 60 recommendation letters to regional head candidates at the district/city level at the Democratic Party DPP, Jakarta, Saturday (20/7).

“Regarding North Sumatra, it is true that we always consider the partners of each candidate,” said AHY.

He explained that the new Democrats would issue recommendation letters simultaneously or at the same time to gubernatorial/mayoral/regent candidates and their deputies.

“We ourselves try to ensure that every time we submit a recommendation, it is a complete package, one pair,” he continued.

According to AHY, the recommendation letter issued also serves as the party’s commitment to focus on supporting the candidate.

“So, no longer after I announce the gubernatorial candidate or regent candidate, then the next is the deputy candidate. We do not use that approach, but use a one-package approach,” said AHY.

“So please understand if there are indeed several regions that are waiting for certainty and also the composition,” said Agus. (mcr8/jpnn)
