jpnn.comJAKARTA – The DPR RI Plenary Meeting with the agenda of ratifying the Pilkada Bill which was scheduled to be held on Thursday (22/8) morning was cancelled and rescheduled because the number of participants did not meet the quorum.

“Therefore, we will reschedule the Bamus (Consultative Body) meeting for a plenary session because the quorum is not met,” said Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad in the Plenary Room of the MPR/DPR/DPD Building, Jakarta, Thursday (22/8).

According to Dasco, the plenary meeting was only attended by 176 members of the DPR. The details are, 89 people were physically present and 87 were allowed not to attend in person.

This number does not meet the quorum requirements because it is less than 50 percent plus 1 of the total number of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives, which is 575.

In addition, the quorum was not met because representatives from all party factions were not present.

After explaining the conditions, Dasco banged the gavel to cancel the plenary meeting.

After that, the members of the Indonesian House of Representatives who were already in the plenary meeting room left the location.
