Matt Whitlock is the local police chief of Banyan Key, a small town in Florida. However, Matt’s private life is not as rosy as his career in law enforcement. The man is in fact close to divorcing his wife Alex, also a policeman. To make matters worse, Matt has an affair with Ann, a cancer patient and victim of her husband Chris. Ann, aware that she is close to her death, decides to leave her inheritance to her Matt, thus ousting her husband.
One evening, having slipped away to Ann’s house following a missed appointment, Matt is surprised by a neighbor who forces him to flee. The following morning, the man gets the job of investigating a double murder: Ann and her husband died. Realizing that he is the main suspect, our protagonist burns all the evidence that links him to the woman, eager to find the real culprit. He begins the hunt.
Taking on the role of Agent Matt Whitlock we find the award-winning Denzel Washington, a well-known Hollywood actor who starred in films such as Malcom X, American Gangster, Training Day, The Manchurian Candidate and the trilogy of The Equalizer. At his side we find Eva Mendes, in the role of Alex. The actress is known for starring in films such as Like a thunder and some chapters of the saga of Fast and Furious. Sanaa Lathan lends her face to Ann, appeared in films such as Now you see me 2, Blade e American Assassin.
