Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is visiting India today for the first time after taking office. Prime Minister Modi formally welcomed him at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi.
According to the spokesperson of the Union Ministry of External Affairs, Prime Minister Meloni’s visit will further strengthen and deepen the long-standing relationship between India and Italy.
Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the multilateral conference at the annual Raisina talks in New Delhi. Earlier, Italian Prime Minister Meloni, who arrived in Delhi, paid floral tributes at the Gandhi Memorial in Rajghat.
The leaders of the two countries met at the Hyderabad residence in Delhi. In this meeting, bilateral talks will be held on detailed agendas in politics, trade and economy, defense, science and technology, energy, health, diplomatic and cultural affairs, according to the information released by the Union Ministry of External Affairs.

Giorgia Meloni, who ran for the far-right party Brothers of Italy, won Italy’s prime ministerial election last year and became the country’s first female prime minister.
