Yadav Leads India to World Cup Triumph
The meeting occurred following a major chapter in Indian cricket, where Yadav captained the national team through a successful defense of the T20 World Cup crown earlier in the year. Under his leadership, India defeated New Zealand at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium to claim the trophy, making India the first team to successfully defend the T20 World Cup title.
That victory added to a leadership ledger that also featured a 2025 T20 Asia Cup title secured in the UAE. Yadav guided the squad to 40 victories.
Across 52 international matches as captain, Yadav recorded eight losses, two ties, and two no-results, maintaining an undefeated record across bilateral series and multi-team tournaments during his tenure.
Across 113 matches played for the national side, he has accumulated 3,272 runs at an average of 36.36 and a strike rate of 162.95.
