Moscow: India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for Russia today. PM Modi will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. PM Modi will meet the Russian President directly after 3 years. This is the first meeting of the two after the Ukraine war started. Along with Western countries, China is also keeping an eye on this visit of PM Modi. In this very important visit, PM Modi can prominently raise the issue of inclusion of Indians in the Russian army and the delay in two units of the S 400 missile system. Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had also raised this issue clearly and strongly in the Shanghai Cooperation Conference held in Astana recently. Now it is being told that PM Modi himself can raise this issue with Putin at the top level. Similarly, India is constantly delaying the supply of S 400, PM Modi is also going to raise this prominently. About 20 Indians have been included in the Russian army in the name of the lure of jobs. Not only this, 2 Indians also died during the fighting in Ukraine. The Indian Foreign Ministry had confirmed in the month of April that many Indian citizens are working as support staff in the Russian army. 10 of them have returned to India. Earlier, the CBI had busted a human trafficking gang who were pushed into the Russia-Ukraine war in the name of getting a good job. In view of all these incidents, Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar raised this entire issue with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during the SCO meeting.
Jaishankar told the Russian Foreign Minister
Jaishankar had said that he had raised the issue of Indians being inducted into the Russian army very clearly and strongly. Jaishankar said, ‘Many Indians have been inducted into the Russian army. When they return, we will be able to understand the whole situation. But whatever the circumstances, it is unacceptable for us that Indian citizens find themselves in the army of another country in a warzone. I have told the Russian Foreign Minister that we need his cooperation because we are friends and partners. We have to find a way so that they can return to India quickly and effectively.’
Russia is delaying the delivery of S 400
During this meeting, the issue of S 400 missile system can also be raised prominently. India has bought 5 squadrons of S 400 missile defense system from Russia. Russia has given only 3 to India so far and is talking about giving the remaining S 400 systems in the year 2025. At the same time, due to being badly stuck in the Ukraine war, questions are being raised on its supply. Amid the increasing threat from China and Pakistan, India is in dire need of S 400 but Russia is unable to provide it. There can be a discussion between PM Modi and Putin regarding the co-manufacturing and repair facility of S 400 in India. An agreement has been reached between the two countries to repair it in India itself. Its equipment can also be made in India. India wants to be self-sufficient in its repair.
