PM Modi Talks with Russian President – US Appreciates

The Shanghai Cooperation Conference was held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Indian Prime Minister Modi, who participated in it, met and talked to world leaders between the conference.

In that way, Prime Minister Modi met Russian President Putin. The two leaders then discussed various important matters including bilateral affairs. Putin and Modi met face-to-face for the first time since Russia invaded Ukraine. During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi expressed his concern over the war in Ukraine saying that this is not the time for war.

UN Speaking at the 77th session of the General Assembly, French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed Prime Minister Modi’s talk with the Russian President.

In this case, America has welcomed Prime Minister Modi’s talk with the Russian President. US Defense Adviser Jack Sullivan, who met with reporters at the White House, said it was commendable that India’s prime minister, who has long appreciated relations with Russia, urged Putin to end the war.
