Arrival of the fifth : 11 – 4 – 1 – 13 – 2

Before finding Vivid Wise As et Delia du Pommereux, at the start of the Grand Critérium de Vitesse de la Côte d’Azur on Sunday at the Cagnes-sur-Mer racecourse (Alpes-Maritimes), trotters were still in the spotlight during the traditional quinté on Friday evening. It was part of a speed test contested by sixteen competitors aged 7 to 11 inclusive and who did not win 225,000 euros.

As in the last two editions, this Prix de Sanary-sur-Mer, the first quinté of the year on the Soisy plateau, was won by a competitor starting from the second row behind the autostart. After waiting in the peloton, Lou’s son (n°11) closed in on the final bend before breaking away irretrievably halfway through the finish line, allowing him to win for the first time at this level, on his fourth attempt.

Behind the resident of Léo Abrivard, Geisha Speed (n°4) takes an encouraging second place because it was delayed by a fault at the start of the course. She is ahead of the favorite, Ghalie du Goutier (n°1), quickly noticed in the leading group and Glorious Carnois (n°13). Gold Voice (n°2) completes the finish of this speed test run over the distance of 2,100 m.
