After the gala weekend at the ParisLongchamp racecourse and the coronation ofMountaineer in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, the first quinté of the week took place on the flat track of Enghien. After the forfeit of Chamant’s Dilf (n°13) who refused to line up behind the wings of the autostart, fourteen competitors remained in contention for a journey of 2,150 m.
Quickly well placed thanks to his number in the front row behind the car, Good Express (#1) bravely created the decision. Struggling all the way to the finish line with Hope of the Fields (n°2), Éric Raffin’s partner managed to create the decision near the post, which allowed him to win the third straight of his career for the ninth participation.
Not far from the leading duo, Precious Aegina (n°5), the favourite, completes the arrival of the trifecta, after deceiving, mid-straight for a better classification. She is clearly ahead Lucerne Fairy (n°9), constantly noticed in the leading group. The photograph was necessary to decide between Fynio du Pommereux (#12) and Ditch Eureka (n°3) which finish in this order in front of Franklin Park (#11). To note that Carla du Houlme (n°15) proved to be at fault at the start of the course and was disqualified.
