Arrival of the fifth: 7 – 10/14 – 5 – 3
Despite a start given at 8:15 p.m., the event organized on the banks of the Allier took place in a temperature of more than 30°C and over the long distance of 3,000 m. This did not prevent Almacado Gree (n° 7) to win after a stunning finish. Still last and very far from the leaders at the start of the long Vichy straight line, he reviewed the peloton, responding perfectly to the requests of his jockey, Tony Piccone. The 7-year-old gelding thus offers a first quinté to his trainer, Bruno Audouin. Father-in-law of the latter, Claude Le Lay was obviously delighted after the event: “We had been looking for such a race for a while. It is a cold horse that has only one long acceleration. I was worried seeing him so far away but the 750m straight served him. »
He too waits, Garden side (#10) finished very well. Even if he could not face the winner, his straight line shows that he should be able to remove a test of this kind in the weeks or months to come. Vichy specialist, Salsa Queen (No. 14) proved to be valiant throughout the final phase and finally shared second place with its aforementioned rival.
In slight decline Sasakia (No. 5), like the winner, once again shows its true face. Mickaël Barzalona’s partner could not doubt the superiority of the first three but can claim to have beaten the favorite of the event, namely Belgian Prince (No. 3), once again at the finish despite an increased weight following its success acquired on May 3 at this level.
