Arrival of the fifth: 4 – 3 – 8 – 2 – 14
Since 1982, the Grand National du Trot has been crisscrossing France, and the public is always there. For this first stage of the 2023 edition, the prize went to Howdy Partner (n° 4) in Amiens. On this course which gives pride of place to good right-handers, one of the cadets of the race since he is 5 years old was able to count on the drive inspired by Franck Nivard. In an event in which the favourite, I Love Me (n° 11), quickly lost all chance on a long prank, the winner was able to be thrown sideways in the last hectometres to gauge Flash de Vely (n° 3), Héliot de Cahot (#8) and Hidalgo des Noes (#2), which end up in a handkerchief after all of them were seen consistently in the lead group.
Author of a beautiful end of race, Falco of the Rocks (n° 1) galloped close to the goal and thus allowed Eazylo Smart (n° 14), the only competitor in the second echelon to appear at the finish, to complete the right combination, made up of fairly prominent horses, hence the fairly low odds.
