The National Civil Police reported the capture of Carlos Alberto Portillo Vásquez, driver of a truck that apparently caused a multiple accident on Los Próceres boulevard, and Álvaro Ibañez Ticas, legal representative of the company Andrade SA de CV that owns the truck.
Both are accused by the authorities of being responsible for a multiple accident that occurred this Tuesday afternoon at the end of Monseñor Romero boulevard and Los Próceres boulevard, where at least one person died and several were injured.
According to preliminary investigations, the drag was carrying an overload of 10 tons more than those allowed by law. It was initially reported that the trailer’s brakes failed, causing the driver to collide with multiple vehicles.
The police carried out a breathalyzer test on the driver of the unit and it came out negative for consumption of intoxicating beverages.
