Slovenia’s cycling star Tadej Pogacar wants to support his homeland financially after the devastating flood disaster. The two-time Tour de France winner is inviting people to a meeting in the capital Ljubljana on August 23. The 24-year-old will donate 10 euros for each autograph and photo.
Pogacar also announced that it would provide at least 10,000 euros, even if the sum should not be reached through autographs and photos. He had previously called for donations on Instagram several times.
Since last Friday, heavy rainfall has caused flooding in many regions of Slovenia, and landslides have also caused enormous damage. Tens of thousands of houses have already been destroyed and villages have had to be evacuated.
Pogacar is currently at the World Cup in Glasgow. On Friday he still had to do the individual time trial after securing the bronze medal in the road race last Sunday.
