After it looked like Paul Pogba would miss the first half of the season following meniscus repair surgery, a U-turn has arrived. Juventus’ new signing has decided not to undergo the surgery and will be out for a total of five weeks, making him available for the World Cup in Qatar.
The French midfielder arrived to meet with surgeon Bertrand Sonnery Cote, with whom he was supposed to undergo the medical procedure that would restore his meniscus. Instead, Pogba will work in the first three weeks of rehabilitation on physical therapy and strengthening the meniscus and in the next two weeks will do personal training on the grass.
The 29-year-old midfielder is expected to return to Massimiliano Allegri’s squad in time for the match against Salerno, which should be held in the second week of September. Last season, the star of the French national team participated in 20 Premier League games in the Manchester United uniform, in which he scored one goal and added nine assists. Also, the midfielder played six games in the Champions League, but was unable to prevent the elimination of the Red Devils already in the Round of 16.
