Get ready to rock! Legendary glam metal band Poison is gearing up for a massive 40th-anniversary celebration in 2026, commemorating the release of their iconic debut album, “Look What The Cat Dragged In.” The band’s drummer, Rikki Rockett, recently revealed their plans on SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk,” confirming at least 40 tour dates.
But will they be headlining their own epic rock extravaganza, or joining forces with another band for a stadium-shaking experience?
Rockett admits the details are still under wraps.
“Whatever makes sense,” he shared, mentioning the possibility of partnering with a complementary act or taking center stage themselves.
“If there’s somebody that we can package with that makes sense, great. If there isn’t, then we’ll headline. We’ll make it right either way.”
This exciting news comes after frontman Bret Michaels hinted at a 40th-anniversary tour during a chat with the Arizona Republic. While he emphasized the need for careful planning and consensus among the band members, Michaels affirmed his enthusiasm for a reunion of the original Poison lineup.
Despite a brief hiatus in 2025, Michaels assured fans that they wouldn’t be waiting long for a Poison reunion.
He explained that he wanted to prioritize his health before hitting the road again, with a focus on managing his diabetes and taking some time for rest and relaxation.
However, the 2026 tour, he declared, would be the perfect time for a grand celebration.
“40 awesome limited dates to go out, play real live hit songs, and rock the world!” he promised.
The prospect of a Poison reunion has been a hot topic among fans ever since Rockett publicly addressed Michaels’ decision to forgo touring in 2025.
Assuring fans that there was no animosity involved,
Rockett explained that it was simply a matter of Michaels prioritizing his health and personal commitments.
The band’s history is rich with epic tours and hit songs. After establishing themselves in the 80s with anthems like “Talk Dirty To Me,” “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” and “Nothin’ But A Good Time,”
Poison has continued to captivate audiences with their raw energy and infectious hooks.
While new music from the band has been scarce, the possibility of a reunion tour promises to be a treat for longtime fans.
With their classic lineup ready to ignite the stage once again, 2026 is shaping up to be an unforgettable year for
Poison and their dedicated fanbase.

Time.News Editor: Welcome, Rikki! It’s a pleasure to have you here today. As a legendary figure in the glam metal scene and the drummer for Poison, your band is celebrating a monumental milestone – the 40th anniversary of your debut album, “Look What The Cat Dragged In.” How does that make you feel?
Rikki Rockett: Thanks for having me! It’s surreal to think about, really. Four decades in the music industry is quite a journey. We’ve seen trends come and go, but the passion for rock remains. Celebrating this anniversary with our fans is something we’re really looking forward to.
Time.News Editor: Absolutely! You’ve recently mentioned that there are plans for at least 40 tour dates in 2026. Can you share what kind of experience fans can expect on this tour?
Rikki Rockett: Well, we want to make it unforgettable! We’re still finalizing the details, but we’re exploring whether we’ll be headlining or collaborating with another band. It’s all about creating an epic atmosphere that fans have come to love from Poison shows. Whether it’s just us or teaming up with another complementary act, we’re committed to making it a rock extravaganza!
Time.News Editor: That sounds fantastic! You mentioned working with other artists. Any hints on who you might partner with, or is that still under wraps?
Rikki Rockett: (laughs) Oh, it’s definitely still under wraps! There are so many incredible bands out there, and the opportunity to collaborate with the right fit would make for a cool package. But we’re keeping our options open. If we find someone that vibes well with us, great! If not, we’re more than ready to take center stage ourselves.
Time.News Editor: That flexibility is key! The glam metal scene has evolved a lot over the years. What do you think has kept Poison’s music and persona relevant to your fans, both old and new?
Rikki Rockett: I think it boils down to authenticity and connection. We’ve always been true to ourselves and our sound – that glam rock style infused with catchy hooks and energetic performances. Plus, our fans have grown with us. We’ve always strived to create an experience that resonates, whether through our music or our live shows. That bond we share with them is what keeps us going.
Time.News Editor: It definitely shows! Speaking of connection, Bret Michaels hinted at the anniversary tour during a recent chat. What’s it like collaborating with him over the years, and how do you maintain your chemistry as a band?
Rikki Rockett: Bret and I go way back, and working together has always been a great balance of creativity and friendship. We understand each other’s strengths and quirks, which helps us navigate the dynamics of the band. It’s all about respect and the shared goal of delivering the best music and performances to our fans. After all this time, we still get excited about the possibilities, and that’s what keeps our chemistry alive.
Time.News Editor: That’s so important! As you prepare for this upcoming celebration, do you have any personal highlights or memories from the past 40 years that stand out?
Rikki Rockett: Oh, there are countless moments! But if I had to pick, I’d say some of the best memories are those impromptu jam sessions we have on tour. It’s in those moments that the magic happens – the laughter, the spontaneity, and just the sheer joy of making music together. And of course, the incredible energy of our fans at live shows is something I cherish deeply.
Time.News Editor: That’s wonderful to hear! Lastly, is there a message you’d like to share with your fans as you gear up for this exciting anniversary tour?
Rikki Rockett: Absolutely! I want to say thank you to all our fans for their unwavering support over the years. You’ve been with us through thick and thin, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you. Get ready for an unforgettable experience – we’re bringing the rock back to the forefront, and we want you all there with us!
