Paris: Four dogs have died after being poisoned during a cross-country race for dogs. The incident took place in southern France. The dogs died after eating poisoned meatballs sprinkled on the track. One of the disabled dogs that participated in the competition died on Tuesday. After this, three more dogs were found dead. The dogs had eaten something on the track and were collapsing. After this, the authorities came and inspected the track in detail.
The poison balls were found during a detailed track inspection. These were scattered in many places. The police suspect that the poison balls were spread using gloves. Officials explained that the race was canceled after poison was found on the track. The police are hoping to get clues about the assailant from the available CCTV footage. France was the qualifying round of the Locha Championship held in October in Germany.
