Islamabad : Both Shahbaz Sharif government and Pakistani Army are in shock after slogans of independence were raised in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK). The way the people of Pakistan stood up against the atrocities of Pakistan, it has put Pakistani policy makers under tension. When thousands of Kashmiri people came out on the streets at various places in POK, Pakistan started fearing the loss of POK. Pakistani repression cycle has started to suppress the opposition in PoK. Heavy security forces have been deployed at every nook and corner. Pakistan Rangers and Frontier Corps have also been deployed in this. Internet and mobile services have been shut down in all 10 districts of PoK. Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has given a statement on the violence erupting in POK. Expressing concern over the situation in POK, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged all parties to find a peaceful way to resolve the demands. Shahbaz Sharif wrote on X, ‘Unfortunately in situations of anarchy and disagreement there are always some people who rush to take political advantage. Debate, discussion and peaceful protests are the beauty of democracy. He further said, ‘Taking the law into one’s own hands and damaging government properties should not be tolerated at all.’

Shahbaz called a high level meeting

Shehbaz Sharif has called a high-level meeting on Monday, in which the current situation in PoK will be discussed. Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari has also appealed to all stakeholders to exercise restraint and resolve the issues in AJK through dialogue and mutual consultation. In a statement issued from the President’s Office, he said, political parties, state institutions and the people of PoK should act responsibly so that hostile elements are not able to exploit the situation for their benefit.

Shahbaz gave instructions regarding PoK

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has spoken to the alleged Prime Minister of PoK Anwarul Haq on the situation. Along with this, he has instructed the leaders of his party PML-N present in PoK to talk to the Awami Action Committee. Appealing for peace from all parties, he said, I hope that despite all the efforts of the opponents, the matter will be resolved soon.

The protests that started in PoK on Saturday against rising prices and huge new taxes turned violent, which continued on Sunday as well. Thousands of people had participated in the protest on the call of Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee. But people got enraged when Pakistani security forces stopped it. During this period, clashes took place between protesters and Pakistani security forces at many places. In this, an ASI of Pakistan has died, while many protesters and policemen have been injured.
