by time news

Paul Polakis continues to deny that he insulted the associate of Adonis Georgiadis in the Parliament, despite his expulsion from SYRIZA – PS and the unanimous condemnation from the political world.

As Paul Polakis said – speaking on the radio station Zarpa 89.6, attacking Athena Linou, “Ms. Linou cannot start crying just because I made a comment to one of Georgiadis’ associates. A comment, I neither insulted her nor cursed. I had no outburst. I simply asked her why she was turning her nose up, madam?”

He continued saying that “they criticize my tone because they cannot talk about either my character or the substance of what I say.”

In the Congress of SYRIZA – PS, Paul Polakis referred to what the next step would be after his expulsion from the parliamentary group of the main opposition party. “In my heart, I remain SYRIZA and with the people I represent,” he emphasized.

“The people put you in or take you out of the position of MP”

He emphasized that “the people are the ones who ultimately respond and put things in their place. The people put you in or take you out of the position of MP, and it’s the members of the party who put you in or expel you from the party,” he noted, referring to a wave of immense support directed towards him already expressed on social media.

As for the reason for his expulsion, he emphasized that “you cannot, at the moment when a party MP makes a huge revelation about a scandal regarding the Filia medical center, whose energy upgrade will reach 1.75 million euros, have Ms. Linou crying just because I made a comment to one of Georgiadis’ associates. A comment, I neither insulted her nor cursed. I had no outburst. I simply asked her why she was turning her nose up, madam?” he argued.

“The ND has been very annoyed by the revelations since 2019”

According to him, “the organized function of parties is to strike at the same point, not the hypocritical sensitivities.”

Paul Polakis noted that “the ND has been very annoyed by the revelations I have been making uninterruptedly since 2019. For example, today the Committee on Institutions and Transparency is meeting, where I cannot participate.

In fact, the now independent MP reserved the right to make a relevant statement in the Parliament’s atrium.
