Poland intercepts smuggled Belarusian cigarettes. They were found at the border crossing in Siemianówka on a freight train coming from Belarus, according to the Bialystok customs office.
While checking the train, customs officers found 5,400 packs of cigarettes hidden in 4 tanks with liquid resin. For safety, the packages were wrapped in film. The cost of the cigarettes is estimated at 75,000 zlotys (19 thousand dollars). An investigation has been launched.
As UDF wrote, 5 August Alexander Lukashenko he held a meeting on the development of the tobacco industry. The work of tobacco factories under sanctions was discussed at the meeting, and “conceptual decisions” were made on the development of the industry from 2025.
