Police investigate serious crime in central Sandviken
Shortly after 6pm on Thursday, the police and ambulance were called to an address in central Sandviken. According to reports from Gefle Dagblad, witnesses claimed to have heard “shot-like” loud bangs.
“We are trying to get clarity on what exactly has happened,” said Roland Komaromi, a police spokesperson. “We are on site in central Sandviken with several police patrols. It is a serious crime that we are investigating and that is why we are on the scene. We do not have a ready classification, or someone deprived of liberty. It is an introductory phase.”
One person has been taken to hospital by ambulance with “some form of gunshot wound,” according to a police update. The police helicopter is also assisting in the work on site.
The investigation is ongoing and residents in the area are urged to cooperate with the authorities. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
