At 18.09 on Tuesday evening, the police were alerted to several loud bangs at Eskilstuna central station.
A large resource was called to the scene where it could be established that a shooting had taken place. No one is reported to have been injured.
– We have cordoned off a suspected crime scene. Testimonies and evidence we found at the scene indicate that it was a shooting, says police spokesperson Dennis Johansson Strömberg.

At 9 p.m., the police confirmed that five people had been arrested after the shooting.
“One of the arrested is currently suspected of aggravated weapons offense and attempted murder. The other four are suspected of aiding and abetting attempted murder,” the police write on their website.
The police are also investigating whether there is any connection to the murder on Thursday in which an 18-year-old man was shot dead outside the school where he attended. But it is too early to say at the moment, it says on the website.
The crime is classified as attempted murder and aggravated weapons offences, but so far no one has been arrested. Police are urging the public to come forward with tips.
