/ The Police Basketball Club delegation left the capital, Baghdad, today, Wednesday, to meet its Syrian counterpart, Al-Wahda, tomorrow, Thursday, within the framework of the West Asian Championship competitions, while the club’s management described its team group as strong.
The club said in a statement received by Agency, “The Police Basketball Club delegation left today, Wednesday, for Syria to participate in the West Asian Super Championship (Wasl) for the 2023-2024 season, and this tournament comes as an opportunity to compete with clubs in the region and achieve sporting success.”
He added, “The draw placed the police team in a strong group that brought it together with the Syrian team, the Lebanese athlete, and the Palestinian Orthodox,” noting that “the police’s confrontation with the Syrian team in Al-Fayhaa Hall tomorrow, Thursday at eight o’clock in the evening, is the first challenge the team faces.”
The statement continued, “As part of its preparations, the police team conducted the last training unit in Baghdad yesterday, where the players demonstrated their full readiness to represent Iraq with pride and professionalism, and the fans are eagerly looking forward to seeing the team’s performance in this match, in light of the strong competition that is expected within the framework of the ( receipt)”.
The statement pointed out that “the sons of Al-Qaythara seek to make every effort to achieve success, and to provide a distinguished performance in its matches in this tournament, with the aim of competing for the title, and leaving a positive impression in the hearts of basketball lovers in Iraq and the region.”
