Coimbatore: In the police-community cricket tournament organized by the Coimbatore Metropolitan Police, the NMS Global team in the civilian category and the Coimbatore District Police (District-1) team won the trophy in the police category.
To improve the relationship between the police and the public, to create awareness about the elimination of drugs and traffic, competitions were held at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Grounds, G.C.T.
32 teams played on behalf of public, 10 teams on behalf of police and 4 teams on behalf of district collector and corporation office.
In the finals held at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, the Coimbatore Police Department C.C.P. AR,3 team and Coimbatore District Police (District-1) team clashed.
In this, Coimbatore District Police Department (District-1) team won by 6 wickets.
Public Division Final PSG It took place in the medical college grounds. In this, the NMS Global team won the Young Advocate Cricket Club team by 5 wickets.
Cash and trophies were awarded to the first and second runners-up teams in the civilian category and the police category.
Coimbatore Police Commissioner Balakrishnan, District Collector Sameeran, Corporation Commissioner Pradeep and film actor Robo Shankar participated in the award ceremony held the day before yesterday.
