NEW DELHI: The Gujarat High Court has directed a bar association lawyer to buy 100 cans of Coca-Cola for a police officer who drank soft drinks during a virtual court hearing. The incident happened last day. Chief Justice Arvind Kumar and Justice Ashutosh J Shastri intervened when they noticed a police officer, AM Rathore, drinking something during a video conference.
This is while considering the case of Rathod 2 abusing women at a traffic junction. ‘If he was in court, would he come with a Coca-Cola can?’ The court asked Assistant Govt. Pleader DM Devnani. Devnani apologized for Rathore.
The Chief Justice said he had seen Coca-Cola drinking from a can but was not sure what was in it. Chief Justice Arvind Kumar also directed that Rathore distribute Coca-Cola at the office of the Advocate General.
