jpnn.comJAKARTA – The National Police continue to prepare security for the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) on Saturday, August 17, 2024. The preparations include personnel and vehicles to escort guests at the ceremony.
Head of the Public Information Bureau of the Indonesian Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, said that security was carried out in synergy with the TNI.
“The readiness of personnel and material of the East Kalimantan Regional Police who are involved in implementing VIP and VVIP security activities in collaboration with the 6 Mulawarman Military Command,” said Trunoyudo in Jakarta, Tuesday (13/8).
Trunoyudo said that for VIP and VVIP security, the East Kalimantan Regional Police and its ranks have deployed a personnel force of approximately 1,013 divided into 7 task forces, with the Balikpapan Police and the PPU Police carrying out increased routine activities.
“The implementation of VVIP security activities is the domain of the 6 Mulawarman Military Command and the Military Commander as the Commander of the Regional Security Task Force. Then the East Kalimantan Regional Police Chief as the Deputy Commander of the Task Force,” he said.
Trunoyudo added that security is not only carried out for guests, but also efforts to prevent and mitigate natural disasters.
Meanwhile, for the travel route to the IKN, he explained that his party placed personnel at road intersections and set up posts that were considered to have the potential for vulnerability or congestion.
“Personnel are conducting traffic engineering activities so that it is hoped that invited guests or VIP guests, other invited guests will not have any obstacles in getting to the ceremonial location, namely in the Capital City of the Archipelago,” he said.
The Indonesian National Police continues to finalize preparations to secure the implementation of the Indonesian Independence Day ceremony at the IKN.
