BOLZANO. As part of a control and verification activity ordered by the Police Chief of Bolzano Paolo Sartori aimed at preventing and repressing the illegal presence of foreign citizens in our provincial territory, the Immigration Office of the Police Headquarters has carried out specific monitoring on the validity of residence permits held by foreign citizens subjected to criminal proceedings.

I am 42,070 non-EU citizens regularly present in South Tyrol with a valid Residence Permit. These are the 10 most represented countries: Albania 6,513, Pakistan 4,360, Ukraine 3,792, Morocco 3,682, Kosovo 2,801, India 1,922, Bangladesh 1,466, China 1,367, Peru 1,314, Tunisia 1,142. They are 10 thousand permits issued since January 1st to date, of which 2467 for the first release and 6 thousand renewals.

From 1 January to 23 July 2024 – the police headquarters informs – 162 expulsion orders/removal orders92 residence permit revocations.
