Pudukkottai: Assistant Inspector Bhuminathan, who was chasing goat thieves near Pudukkottai, was hacked to death early Sunday morning. 4 special forces are set up to catch the killers.

Bhuminathan was working as a Special Assistant Inspector in Nawalpattu Police Station, Trichy District.

He was on patrol Saturday night. In this condition he lay dead in the valley near Keeranur with excessive bleeding with a cut on the head.

Police say Bhuminathan may have been cut by a scythe they were hiding when he chased a two-wheeler carrying sheep from the Nawalpattu border.

Following this, District Superintendent of Police Nisha Parthiban has ordered DSPs Sivasubramanian and Arunmozhi Arasu to form 4 special forces comprising two investigators and 2 sub-investigators to arrest the killers.
