Police Investigate Shooting in Eskilstuna
The Alberga area just outside Eskilstuna was the scene of a police investigation on Tuesday morning, following reports of loud bangs by local residents. The incident, which occurred shortly after 10:00 am, led to the arrest of four individuals who are now suspected of involvement in a shooting.
Upon receiving the call, the police responded promptly with a substantial presence, given the uncertainty surrounding the situation. However, upon arrival, no injured individuals were found at the scene. “We went there with a substantial resource, because we did not know what awaited us. Once on site, we did not find anyone injured, and initially it was difficult to find out what happened,” Gustavsson explained.
Gustavsson further revealed that a thorough search of houses affiliated with the arrested individuals was conducted. The preliminary investigation has been launched into a serious weapons crime, as the police explore the extent of the suspects’ involvement.
The four individuals arrested in connection to the incident range in age from 30 to 45, including three men and one woman. However, Gustavsson suggested that additional criminal offenses may arise throughout the course of the investigation.
In a comment posted on the police’s website, Gustavsson hinted at the possibility of more criminal classifications becoming relevant.
Meanwhile, addressing concerns of gang-related activities, Gustavsson assured the public that there were no current suspicions connecting the incident to gang crime.
