Region West
Police Region West consists of the counties of Halland and Västra Götaland. About 5,700 employees work to implement the police
core tasks in the 55 municipalities. Operations in the police region are organized in five police areas, one regional
investigation unit, a regional operational unit, a regional intelligence unit and a regional office. In the police areas there are
the local police areas, which are the core of policing. National departments are represented in the region to provide support for police operations.

Greater Gothenburg police area
Greater Gothenburg police area is divided into five local police areas: Gothenburg city, Kungälv/Ale, Greater Gothenburg Hisingen,
Greater Gothenburg northeast and Greater Gothenburg south. At the police area level, investigative activities are organized in investigative units
and investigation section. There is also a police district office.

The section for the investigation of crimes in close relationships (BiNR)
The section for crimes in close relationships handles almost all relationship crimes in the greater Gothenburg police area. This means, among other things, responsibility for the most serious crimes such as murder, serious violation of women’s rights, serious assault and rape.

Job description

We are looking for you who are studying at one of the country’s police academies and who want to work as an investigator this summer. You will be part of the investigative activities and perform various tasks within the investigation of this type of crime. Examples of work tasks are holding interviews, taking up reports, carrying out internal reconnaissance, ordering technical investigations, making searches and handling seizures and other documentation. The work means that you work with complex cases and extensive investigative material. The employment extends during the summer, full-time starting v.25 and 9 weeks ahead.

Qualifications

We are looking for you as:

  • is a police student at one of the universities to work as a police officer
  • has completed the Criminal Investigation course
  • have some work experience
  • have good computer skills and easy to learn new IT systems
  • have good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish and English
  • We see it as meritorious if, in addition to the above, you also have:

  • previous experience of similar duties within the police authority
  • previous experience of investigative work (other than with the police authority)
  • sign language and/or non-Nordic language skills in addition to English where you can use the language unhindered in your professional practice

We are looking for you who have good cooperation skills, are outgoing and have the desire to provide good help/support to colleagues. You are flexible, responsible, accurate and have the ability to prioritize. The work pace is often high, which places demands on stress resistance. Furthermore, you need to be confident, possess great integrity and have a high level of security thinking. You are a good representative of the police authority, act legally and work to strengthen the public’s trust in the authority.
