In a first instance ruling, the Attorney General’s Office imposed a sanction of dismissal and general disqualification for 17 years on the former head of the Assistance Services Group of the Quindío Police, Lieutenant Darío Fernando Cabrera Hidalgo, for harassing a subordinate at work between November 2019 and May 2020.

The Risaralda Regional Court confirmed that the officer abused his hierarchical role to permanently change the shifts she had to work as a patrolwoman, forced her to work on her day off, omitted the medical disabilities she had and assigned her responsibilities that exceeded working hours.

In the same sense, the Control Entity found proven that the disciplined person disqualified the official’s work with hostile and humiliating comments, he attributed to her responsibilities other than those she was obliged to, situations that all caused her to be isolated from work since her colleagues avoided contact so as not to be victims of similar measures.

Cabrera Hidalgo, who at the time of the events also served as head of the Health Care Provider Group in Quindío of the National Police, engaged in behavior that violated human dignity and work in decent and fair conditions, the Public Prosecutor’s Office stressed.

With his conduct, the lieutenant violated the principle of morality, deviated from current regulations in the performance of his duties and abused his rank to hinder the development of the work carried out by the person under his command, for which reason the Attorney General’s Office definitively classified his fault as very serious and committed with intent.

Finally, the control entity found proven that Lieutenant Darío Fernando Cabrera Hidalgo disqualified the official’s work in Quindío with hostile and humiliating comments.
