The 22-year-old man prosecuted for seriously injuring a police officer after refusing to comply in Sochaux (Doubs) was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention, we learned on Saturday from the Montbéliard public prosecutor’s office.

A judicial investigation into the counts of attempted murder of a person holding public authority and refusal to comply was opened against the indicted person, said the prosecution, confirming initial information from Republican East. The young man was imprisoned around 7 p.m. on Saturday.

On Thursday, a police officer from the Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC) of the Montbéliard police station was seriously injured “while he participated, with two colleagues, in the arrest of a 22-year-old man” already convicted and subject to of a search warrant for escape, the public prosecutor indicated on Friday.

The police officer suffers several fractures

One of the police officers used his service weapon three times, shooting the wanted person in the hip. At the same time, an investigation was opened for “violence with weapons” in relation to these shootings.

The accused would have, according to the first elements of the investigation, reversed his vehicle, hitting the police officer who was trying to prevent him from fleeing.

The latter was driven “under the chassis of the vehicle”. Despite his cries and orders to stop, the young man continued his flight, this time from the front, hitting the BAC vehicle, “and carrying away the victim trapped under the chassis”.

The police officer, hospitalized, suffered from “a double fracture of the left wrist, a fracture of the right shoulder blade, broken ribs and head trauma”. The accused, injured in the hip, underwent surgery on Friday morning.
