Police launched a double murder investigation after 14-year-old twin boys were found stabbed to death inside their home in Mamelodi West, Pretoria, on Friday, October 2, when their mother discovered the bodies in a bedroom.
The twin brothers, both aged 14, had sustained multiple stab wounds when emergency responders and local law enforcement rushed to the residential property in a Mamelodi bedroom on Friday following the discovery.
Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed that investigators are following all available leads to piece together the events leading up to the attack after officers attended the scene in the D6 section near Moretele Park where the teenagers lived.

Authorities stated that forensic experts combed the crime scene immediately after the discovery to gather physical evidence and trace material that could lead to the perpetrator as investigators established a dedicated detective team to probe the killings.

Civil Rights Group Demands Information
The civil rights movement Not In My Name deployed members to the neighborhood to support the grief-stricken family following the tragic discovery and condemned the killings while calling for community members with relevant information to come forward and assist police with their inquiries.
Police echoed these appeals, urging anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the area to contact local authorities, as community advocates also stressed the immediate need for professional counseling services for the surviving mother and all those affected.
