Swathi, who became a false witness in the Gokulraj murder case, is under police protection.

Madurai District Atrocity Prevention Special Court, which investigated the murder case of Gokulraj, a college student in Tiruchengode, Namakkal district, sentenced 10 people including the accused Yuvraj to life imprisonment. It also ordered the acquittal of 5 accused in the case.

Yuvraj and 10 others filed petitions in the Madurai branch of the High Court seeking cancellation of this order. Similarly, Gokulraj’s mother, Chitra, filed petitions against the release of 5 by the CBCID.

These cases are continuously being investigated in the session comprising Justices M. S. Ramesh and N. Anand Venkatesh.

In this situation, Swathi, who became a false witness in the Gokulraj murder case, was brought under heavy security as per the orders of the Madurai branch of the High Court on Friday and the hearing was held before the judges. Then Swathi refused to tell the truth. The judges also warned Swathi that if she refused to tell the truth in court, she would be charged with contempt of court

Adjourning the hearing to the 30th, stating that Swathi, his parents should continue to provide protection to the family and that the police department should not approach him on the part of the criminals.

According to the court order, Swathi’s house in Namakkal Rangapatti has been secured by police.
