Thiruvananthapuram: The Silver Line survey, which was halted during the party congress, has resumed. Officials reached the Silver Line Survey at Kazhakoottam Karichara in Thiruvananthapuram. As soon as the information was received that the officials were coming, the locals and the Congress workers came to the place in protest. The pre-commanded is to protest. There was conflict between the protesters and the police. The Thiruvananthapuram bureau reports that one person was injured in the clash and another fell unconscious.

Meanwhile, police were also moved to the police built protesters in Karicalay. According to the protesters, officials of the Mangalore police station were behind the attack. Assured that the protest would not go ahead with the survey in earnest, officials decided to return from the scene.

Silverline Survey Again After CPIM Party Congress In Kazhakkoottam Karichara

The biggest protest was immediately over the attack. However, officials at the Mangalore police station said that they had not deliberately attacked anyone and had only ensured police security for the officers.

Tensions are high in the area, however, as protests have intensified and the survey has been suspended. The locals alleged that the officials and the police arrived without giving any notice and that the situation escalated when they arrived unexpectedly.

Officers under heavy police guard reached Karichara around 10 am for stoning. Officials were unable to proceed with the stoning proceedings. The protesters had already arrived. But officials were initially unwilling to end the survey. More police arrived on the scene as tensions continued.

Silver line operations have not yet started in Thiruvananthapuram city. The survey was conducted in Chirayinkeezhu, Varkala and Kaniyapuram areas in Thiruvananthapuram. There were strong protests in many places. The survey is still being conducted in the same areas. Earlier, a survey was conducted in Karichara and the stoning had to be stopped due to protests.

On March 25, the government decided to suspend the stone-laying process related to the Silver Line Survey. The decision was taken by the Left government following widespread protests. As the CPM party congress is scheduled to take place in the first week of April, the CPM has warned that protests during the party’s most important national convention could tarnish the party’s image. Almost a month later, after the end of the party congress and the resumption of stoning proceedings, it remains to be seen how protests will erupt across the state again.
