The release of a video by the Miami-Dade County (Florida) police has sparked outrage in the United States. The footage shows the violent arrest of Tyreek Hill, star of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins, who was handcuffed and handcuffed on a speeding charge while on his way to Hard Rock Stadium to play a game.

The incident began when Hill passed officials at high speed on the road leading to the stadium, home of the Dolphins. After they arrived there, a serious conflict broke out between the singer and the police. “Keep the window down” – Hill raised it – the agent told the Dolphins player by hitting the window of his car, to which Tyreek Hill responded with “don’t tell me what to do.” This statement really upset the police officer, who did not hesitate to confront the former NFL star: “I will take you out of the car. In fact, get out of the car,” he ordered. “When we tell you to do something, you do it. Do you know? Do you know? It’s not what you want, but what you’re told. “You’re a little confused,” another agent told him while making his move with his knee on his back.

Lying on the ground with his hands behind his back and surrounded by several officers, the player, surprised by the situation, continued to answer the police: “Take me to prison, brother, do what you have to do.” The agents, meanwhile, shouted phrases like “you’re crazy” and “stop crying.”

Hill was handcuffed and placed on the side of the road. Despite the controversy, the incident did not prevent the player from participating in the Dolphins’ subsequent 20-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Two other footballers, Calais Campbell and Jonnu Smith, were also jailed during the fight when they tried to intervene in the safety of their teammate.

The Miami-Dade Police Department has reported that one of the officers involved has been assigned to administrative duties while an internal investigation into the use of force in this case is conducted.

The Miami Dolphins team published an official statement on their social networks in which they expressed their anger at the treatment received by the players: “We are saddened by the extreme anger and violent behavior directed at Tyreek Hill, Calais Campbell and Jonnu Smith by the police before yesterday’s game. “It’s sad to see so many people we trust to protect our community use such unnecessary force against these actors,” they noted. ‘What would have happened if I hadn’t been Tireek Hill?’ They asked each other.
