The possibility of Julia Faustyna being the British Madeleine McCann, missing since 2007, was discarded by the Polish police. After the case had a great deal of repercussion in the media, the authorities conducted an investigation that was able to gather evidence that Julia lied in her allegations.
Although the case is still ongoing, police spokesman Pawel Noga says the investigation contradicts the story told by the young woman and “it is already possible to rule out” that Julia’s version is true.

An investigator who served on the original case also revealed that a biometric analysis confirms that there are no “similarities between the features”.
What happened?
- Polish Julia Faustyna, 21, created a profile on social media claiming to be Madeleine McCann;
- The young woman claimed to have identical physical characteristics to the missing British woman when she was just three years old – a freckle on her leg and a mark on her eye would be among the evidence;
- Faustyna made several publications of montages and childhood photos placed side by side with those of McCann;
- She also claimed to remember a beach vacation with white, or very pale, apartments, which coincided with the appearance of the resort where Madeleine disappeared;
Julia even claimed recently that Gary and Kate, Madeleine’s parents, would have agreed to do a DNA test. However, her parents did not authorize the procedure because they also have proof that the young woman is not Madeleine, including Faustyna’s birth certificate and childhood photos — who suffers from mental problems and has used medication.

When she was just 3 years old, Madeleine McCann disappeared in 2007 in Praia da Luz, Portugal. Over the years, investigators who handled the case say that the girl was killed.
The main suspect in the crime is the German Christian Brueckner, according to the German police. Christian raped an American tourist in the same location where McCann disappeared two years earlier. According to telephone records, the criminal was also in the region at the same time that the girl disappeared.
