Jolarpettai: Railway police seized 25 kg of cannabis smuggled on the Alappuzha Express train at Jolarpettai railway station early yesterday morning.
The first cannabis and drug hunt in Tamil Nadu has been taking place since the 28th of last month under the name Operation Cannabis Hunt 2.0. In this connection, cannabis and narcotics are being seized and monitored at the Jolarpet railway station and running trains in Tirupati district.

The Alappuzha Express train from Dhanbad railway station in Jharkhand to Alappuzha in Kerala arrived at the 1st platform at Jolarpet railway station at 3.30 am yesterday. At that time, Jolarpet was inspected by Railway Sub-Inspector Jayakumar and the police on the train.

They confiscated and checked 3 bags lying unattended near the toilet box in the booked D1 coach.
It was revealed that there was 25 kg of cannabis in it. The railway police who seized them are conducting a serious investigation into the mysterious persons who smuggled cannabis on the running train.
