In response to the incident, Madurai Police Commissioner Loganathan ordered the formation of a special task force to track down the culprit, leading to the police’s eventual capture of Raj. When the police tried to apprehend him in the Sellur Kalathu Potal area, Raj attacked a sub-inspector with a sickle, prompting an officer to shoot him in the knee, subduing him.

Both the injured sub-inspector and Raj were admitted to the Madurai Government Hospital for further treatment. Commissioner Loganathan later confirmed that Raj had been wanted in connection with the chain snatching incident and praised the efforts of the police force in capturing the suspect.

The incident has caused a stir in Madurai, with many citizens expressing relief at the capture of the notorious chain snatcher. The injured sub-inspector, SI Ranjith, was visited by Commissioner Loganathan and Deputy Commissioner Sinekapriya while he was being treated at the hospital.

Despite the dramatic chain of events, both the injured sub-inspector and the captured suspect are reported to be in stable condition. With Raj in custody, the Madurai police are continuing their efforts to maintain law and order in the city and protect citizens from further criminal activities.
