The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) reported that it will deploy more than 6 thousand police officers and 350 patrol cars in the 16 municipalities capital to ensure the safety of sellers and buyers of school supplies in view of the start of the 2024-2025 school year.

Through the operation “Pilgrimage of Sale of Uniforms and School Supplies 2024” the SSC will deploy 6,240 uniformed officers, supported by 350 patrols, and will reinforce the police presence in 195 stations of the Mass Transportation System (STC) Metro, as well as in the Electric Transport SystemsyMetrobus.
The capital police added in a statement that the personnel of the C2 and C5, as well as the Computerized Traffic Control Center, will carry out monitoring to detect any act that alters public order or puts people’s safety at risk.
The security operation actions began at 06:00 hours this Thursday, August 15, with the deployment of uniformed officers on the streets where there is a greater influx of buyers, such as the Mesones corridor in the Historic Center, as well as in shopping malls, banks and ATMs, and in tianguis, fixed and mobile markets located in the 16 districts of the capital.
Likewise, the SSC The agency recommended that citizens use reliable electronic mechanisms when making payments, keep an eye on electronic cards to avoid fraud such as cloning or data theft, avoid counting cash in public places, do not go alone to withdraw money, do not use ATMs with anomalies, and immediately check with their banking institution for unrecognized charges.
In order to avoid traffic complications, the Undersecretary of Traffic Control urged motorists to use designated parking spaces, not to park in double rows, to follow the instructions of uniformed officers, to respect vehicular and pedestrian accesses, and to keep emergency exits clear.
