What is a contagious disease?

What are the most contagious diseases?

Although there are a wide variety of contagious diseases, we share with you some of the diseases or things you didn’t know are contagious:

Gastroenteritis: One of the most common diseases that has symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and fever can be transmitted through close contact.
This close contact can be with infected people or surfaces such as food, towels, glasses, cutlery, etc.
Poliomyelitis: The cause of this disease is transmitted orally and/or fecally, that is, when it is consumed or comes into contact with a surface contaminated with feces of an infected person.
Itching: Although this is not a disease, it is common for the itching sensation to be something “contagious”, as it may be that just by reading or hearing about it, you immediately feel the need to scratch it.
Ringworm: A skin rash caused by fungus that can be passed from one person to another by using an infected towel in places such as gyms or public swimming pools.
Emotions: Some emotions are also contagious, for example happiness, disgust, stress, fear, etc.

What are the 5 most common diseases in Mexico?

In Mexico, the five most common diseases include heart disease, diabetes, respiratory diseases, cancer and liver diseases.

Cardiovascular diseases, such as hypertension and coronary heart disease, top the list and account for a large burden of disease in the country.

Diabetes is also a major concern due to its increasing prevalence, related in part to dietary habits and lifestyle.

Respiratory diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and respiratory infections, are also common due to air pollution and smoking.

Cancer, in its various forms, affects a significant part of the Mexican population.

Finally, liver diseases, including hepatitis and cirrhosis, are also on the list of common diseases although they are not the things you didn’t know are contagious.
