“I didn’t just achieve my dreams, I reached places my imagination never dared to go,” commented the 34-year-old player on his Instagram account, adding that he played at the highest level and with the best in history, without feeling inferior.

Wojciech Szczesny said that, despite his body still being prepared for challenges, his heart is no longer in it, at a moment in life when he wants to dedicate himself to his family, his wife, and their two children.

“For this reason, I decided to retire from professional football. It marks the end of a journey that is a time for reflection and gratitude,” he added.

The Polish international, with 84 games for the national team, joined Arsenal as a youth player from Legia Warsaw, and in his career, he has worn the colors of the ‘gunners’ but also of Roma and Juventus, the emblem he represented for the last seven seasons.

In his resume, Wojciech Szczesny has two FA Cups, one English Supercup, three Italian championships, three Coppa Italia titles, and two Italian Supercups.
