A promising start for the electoral process. The dialogue on the transparency and reliability of the electoral process, initiated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) and held yesterday in Alarobia, was “ encouraging », in the words of the participants.

The two former Presidents of the Republic, Marc Ravalomanana and Hery Rajaonarimampianina, heads of Institutions representing the two legislative bodies, representatives of the government and the diplomatic corps, leaders and members of political parties and civil society, the tenors of the FFKM. .. responded present to this dialogue which obviously obtained the adhesion of all.

« The large presence of all stakeholders motivates everyone to respect the values ​​(Soatoavina) pre and post dialogue “, reacted the president of the Ceni, Arsène Dama who added that” the success of the electoral process in a climate of peace depends on all ».

Christine Razanamahasoa, President of the National Assembly, like Marc Ravalomanana, as leader of the opposition or even Pierre Holder Ramaholimasy, Minister of Territorial Development and Land Services and no less government spokesperson are agreed to say that the approach taken by the Ceni is commendable and that everyone accepts and adheres to it.

The leader of the opposition has thus publicly promoted to the president of the Ceni that his party undertakes to sensitize voters to enroll massively in the electoral list. He then asked this body to do what is necessary to ensure that this list is as transparent as possible, in particular through the deployment of audits such as that carried out by the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), which was unable to be accomplished in three days given the importance of the tasks.

Addressing the members of the government present, Marc Ravalomanana also expressed his wish to stop the repression against his supporters. Former President Hery Rajaonarimampianina, meanwhile, spoke of the need to save the country which is currently in great difficulty. This is everyone’s business, he said.

About ten themes were raised during the speech, in particular: the list of voters, the dates of the ballot, the electoral operations, the electoral campaign, the processing of the results, the prosecution of electoral offences, the revision of the legal framework of elections, possible political consensus… This is only the beginning of a long process which should make it possible to establish peace before, during and after the elections. Other dialogues and exchanges should still take place.
