Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas said that sabotage and violence have no place in a democratic political system.

He said this at the distribution ceremony of ‘Prime Minister’s relief aid for victims of recent violence by anti-independence criminals’ at Segunbagicha Social Program Center on Thursday (July 25) afternoon.

Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas said, “We have noticed that the BNP-Jamaat clique has tried and conspired to overthrow the Prime Minister of the elected democratic government, Sheikh Hasina, by creating havoc, creating terror and anarchy. As a result of which the common people of the country lost their lives. They wasted the wealth of the country. On behalf of the people of Dhaka and Dhaka South City Corporation, I strongly condemn, protest and condemn them.

He said, they have chosen the path of terrorism by misrepresenting the democratic process. Calling them to return to the stream of democracy. Political violence has no place in a democracy. Request the government to take strict legal action against them for acts of terrorism and sabotage, if they do not return to democratic ways.

Mayor Tapas warned that if the vandalism continues, the perpetrators of violence and destruction of state property will be eliminated in the future.

Bangladesh Awami League joint general secretary and Dhaka-8 Constituency Member of Parliament A.F.M. Bahauddin Nashim said that the BNP-Jamaat terrorists have indulged in the Holi game of blood. Due to which curfew has been imposed to maintain law and order situation. As a result of which hard working people, day laborers, common people are suffering. Therefore, these food items are being distributed on the instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to alleviate the suffering of the common people.

Bahauddin Nashim announced that all evil forces should be unitedly dealt with. They brought trained terrorists and gathered them in Dhaka. But we were not defeated. We have identified the terrorists. Soon they will be found and brought under the law. We will fight and resist all evil forces unitedly.

In the event, food items were distributed among 1000 affected people. The food items include 5 kg of rice, 2 kg of potatoes, 1 kg of dal, 1 liter of oil and 1 kg of salt.
