jpnn.comJAKARTA – The division within the Gerindra Party in Ponorogo Regency began to appear during the registration of the 2024 Pilkada for Candidates for Regent and Deputy Regent (Cabup-Cawabup).
The Gerindra Party in Ponorogo officially supports the incumbent pair Sugiri Sancoko-Lisdyarita along with 10 other parties, namely PKB, PDIP, Golkar, Demokrat, PKS, PPP, Perindo, Gelora, PSI and Ummat.
However, one of the Gerindra Party cadres in Ponorogo, Segoro Luhur Kusumo Daru, is also running as a Deputy Regent candidate to become the running mate of Ponorogo Regent Candidate Ipong Muchlissoni from Nasdem, PAN and PBB.
He is a former candidate for the East Java Provincial DPRD for East Java Electoral District IX and the son of the Head of the Ponorogo Gerindra Party DPC, Supriyanto, who is also a member of the 2019-2024 Indonesian House of Representatives and a candidate for the Elected Member of the 2024-2029 Indonesian House of Representatives for East Java Electoral District VII.
Deputy Chairperson for Legal Affairs and Disputes of the East Java Gerindra Party DPD, H. Abdul Malik, responded to this polemic.
He gave a statement regarding Segoro Luhur’s jump to become a candidate for Deputy Regent of Ponorogo.
“We from the East Java Gerindra Party DPD for Disputes and Law will evaluate Segoro Luhur who is likely to be dismissed from the party. It is clear that Gerindra Ponorogo based on the recommendation of the Golkar Party DPP supports Sugiri-Lisdyarita,” said Abah Malik, familiarly known as H. Abdul Malik, via a press release on Friday (6/9/2024).
The chairman of the East Java DPD of the Indonesian Advocates Congress (KAI) also said that he would provide a letter of request for dismissal and PAW to Supriyanto, Segoro Luhur’s parent.
